A major fit and a day at the park

This is Joe David blogging. I'm up late watching basketball, and thought I would post some recent pics.

The first set of pics is from a very unfortunate event that occured Monday at our house. Jed pitched his biggest fit yet. While it's not fun to watch, it was a little hard not to laugh. To set it up, Jed LOVES my guitars, and loves plucking the strings. Monday, I bought a new guitar, and we all went to Guitar Center so I could pick it out. When we got home, I knelt down so Jed could look at it and strum it. Yes, I did wear VA issue scrubs to Guitar Center, possibly a federal crime. I don't usually wear my scrubs about town, but I had just gotten off work, and was very excited about my new guitar.

For anyone who cares, I bought an Epiphone Casino, just like John Lennon played.

At first, things were cool. Jed was enjoying looking at it and touching the strings and knobs. But then, things turned south - fast. He wanted to do chin-ups on the neck of the guitar, and got mad when I stood up to take it away.

I then took the guitar upstairs, and came back down. Jed went ballistic. We have a gate at the bottom of the stairs, and he stood at the gate, pulling at the top of the gate, wailing for the guitar that was taken from him. We've never seen anything so dramatic. This went on for a good 5 minutes. We were kind of at a loss for what to do, but we knew we weren't going to reward that kind of behavior by bringing the guitar back down. So we let him have his fit, and he was over it in about 5 minutes. While I do love his love for guitars, I'm not so exicted about the behavior.

The next few pictures are some that Stef took at the park today. I met them at the park on my way home from work. It was such a surreal moment to see my one-year-old son see me from a distance and come walking towards me with a big grin on his face.
